SC Attorney General to Appeal Department of Justice Refusal

According to the Sunday Post and Courier, the South Carolina Attorney General’s office is planning to file suit on Tuesday, January 31st, against the U.S.  Department of Justice for its December 23, 2011 refusal to allow the enforcement of South Carolina’s Voter ID Act.   On January 19, 2012, South Carolina’s Attorney General, Alan Wilson, sent South Carolina’s U.S. Attorney General, William Nettles, a letter, stating that 953 dead people had voted in South Carolina’s recent elections.  Charleston School of Law’s Professor Armand Derfner is quoted in the Post & Courier article.
