Studying%20in%20libraryJennifer Meger, the research librarian at Goulston & Storrs, published an article, Best Practices for Sharing Legal Research, in the ABA Journal.  Meger examined methods of collaboration and the sharing of legal research via electronic format among attorneys.  While Meger used WestlawNext as her legal research tool, her suggestions are also applicable to other computer assisted legal research (CALR) tools such as Bloomberg BNA Law, Lexis Advance, FastCase, Casemaker and Google Scholar/Docs.  Meger suggests the following behaviors constitute the best practices for sharing legal research “1) Create your own folder….2) Share Folders with colleagues and co-counsel….3) Manage privileges….4)Annotate Sharing….(and) 5) Retain your firm’s intellectual property.”
