Bloomberg Law BNA has arrived on campus. If you missed one of the training sessions, you will soon be able to view a training video at the school’s classcaster site. Contact Professor Melissa Strickland at either 843.377.4908 or email@example.com to obtain a password if you missed the training sessions.
Bloomberg integrates primary federal sources (cases, statutes, and regulations) with secondary sources such as ABI, ABA, Bloomberg News, BNA, PLI and Wiley Press on the same screen. Searching can be done via a go bar that resembles a Google type search screen. Field searching (title, citation, attorney, judge) is also available. There is Pacer docket searching, and there is extensive information about companies and financials. SEC forms and documents are available via a feature known as Dealmaker documents that provide researcher with a roadmap to craft and create their own documents. A top tab allows a researcher to search by Practice Centers, Litigation & Dockets, Transactional Law, Legislation & Regulatory, Legal Analysis & News, and lastly Companies & Markets.
This is a very nice new research product. I urge you to get a password and start learning. Students are able to use this during the summer at commercial entities and have access to the resource for six months after graduations.
