United States v. Windsor Resources

The United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments this morning in United States v. imagesCA6B1ATQWindsor.  Arguments can be heard via MP3, Windows Media or RealAudio formats.  A transcript of the argument is also available as are the briefs.  The Court heard arguments on the issue of whether Section three of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) “violates the Fifth Amendment’s guarantee of equal protection of the laws as applied to persons of the same-sex who are legally married under the laws of their State.”  Marcia Coyle’s blog entry, Breaking:  U.S. Supreme Court Casts Doubt on DOMA, appears here in  the Blog of the Legal Times.
