First Monday in October

newsctwebsiteThe United States Supreme Court returned for the 2014-2015 term today.  The Court’s Order List was released this morning.  As the SCOTUS blog notes, the “…Court denied review of all seven of the petitions arising from challenges to state bans on same-sex marriage.  This means that the lower-court decisions striking down bans in Indiana, Wisconsin, Utah, Oklahoma, and Virginia should go into effect shortly, clearing the way for same-sex marriages in those states and any other state with similar bans in those circuits.”  Amy Howe’s Monday Round Up column provides an extensive list of upcoming court activities with links to commentary.

The Court also revealed its updated website.  According to a press release, the site was designed to be more functional and efficient.
