Many thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate National Library Week last week! Also congratulations to Victoria Blatterman, Tac Hargrove, and Ashley Nightingale. They won the drawing for the Lexis ACE e-books.
While we enjoyed the celebration, I think we enjoyed learning of your favorite book selections more. There are lots of Harry Potter and Game of Thrones fans for novel series. David Baldacci, Michael Connelly, and John Grisham are favorite authors.
Several classics also made the list including All the King’s Men, Bleak House, Brave New World, Great Expectations, Great Gatsby, Green Eggs and Ham, Les Miserables, Moby Dick, Pride & Prejudice, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Holy Bible, The Sun Also Rises, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and To Kill a Mockingbird. More recent best sellers such as A Clockwork Orange, Devil in the White City, Gone Girl, Life of Pi, The Secret History, The Mummy, Watership Down, and Wild also appeared.
There are a few titles that I wasn’t familiar with that look interesting, including American Gods, Baptized in Sweet Tea, Caste, Class and Race, How to Deal with Difficult People, and I Heard You Paint Houses.
As finals are only a week away, it is time to move away from pleasure, leisure reading and hit the casebooks, hornbooks, and nutshells. Happy studying!
