South Carolina Court of Appeals’ Opinion

Court of Appeals

On Wednesday, the South Carolina Court of Appeals published an opinion in First South Bank v. South Causeway. This was an appeal of a commercial foreclosure action, in which South Causeway argued the circuit court erred by (1) directing a verdict in favor for First South Bank (“First South”) on South Causeway’s claim for tortious interference with a prospective contract, (2) refusing to admit certain email correspondence, and (3) denying South Causeway’s motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (“JNOV”) or in the alternative, motion for a new trial on its breach of contract claims. The Court affirmed the lower courts holding finding no error.
