Perhaps you are familiar with Fastcase, a research tool available free to South Carolina Bar members, as well as law school faculty and students. It appears on the library’s database page. What you may not have noticed, because it is rather well hidden on the Fastcase home page, is that Fastcase has been augmented by an updated version, Fastcase 7.
Fastcase 7 is an even more fluid and easy-to-navigate online legal research library. It features an enhanced Forecite, Tag Cloud, Authority Check and Bad Law Bot, more advanced search options, larger fonts and selections to make documents easier to read on computer screens and new dual-column printing options. To access Fastcase, login through the library’s database page. As well as seeing the familiar version of Fastcase, you’ll also have the option to try out Fastcase 7 by using the slider at the top right corner of your screen. You can go back and forth between Fastcase 7 and Fastcase classic. If you could use some help getting started with Fastcase 7, consult a librarian or look for the updated Libguide to Fastcase, coming soon.
